Summers are best lived outside.
I love the hot summer days and the warm summer nights. I love the time adventuring with my Circus and being a part of the community.
I love summer.
Last Friday I had a work retreat that was held at Hogle Zoo. After our work meeting our families were able to join us for to see a training session with the new red panda, and then we were able to bum around the zoo and check things out.
It had been a long time since I'd been to the zoo so it was to be able to check out all the animals. It didn't seem like any part of the zoo was the same as I remembered it. They've done a lot of work on it.
After wandering around the zoo, we decided to hit a movie in the park. Though it turned out the one we chose was set up in a parking lot this particular night. So instead of trying food trucks in the park we tried a new chicken wings place in shopping center, and watched all the Star Wars costumes as the movie we were watching that night was The Last Jedi.
I'll say it again, summer is the best.

My Boss Boxes... Sort Of
Sometimes, in my job, we get to do some pretty fun things.
And some pretty funny things.
I think, all in all, if you have the chance to see your boss get in a boxing ring, you should absolutely take that opportunity.
The Man and I took such an opportunity over the weekend.
They were armature fights and hilarious to watch.
I can't say boxing is something that I will ever add to my "to do" list.
The Man might though, who knows.
I guess at that point I'll become a solid boxing fan.
Until then... I can check the "watch boxing" off of some sort of list and laugh with my co-workers at my boss' black eye.

Summer is the Front Yard
Summer time and the living is easy.
For whatever the reason, our summers are lived out in our front yard, and not the backyard. Though I'm working to change that, at least in just some small part, with some "face lift ideas" for the backyard. It's a great yard.
But we do enjoy the front yard. I think the draw is the neighbors walking by. Or yelling "hey" at The Russians over the half fence. Commenting on The Cooks' grass (I think we finally have them beat this year!), or the Russell's flowers. And all the small children getting a thrill with Milo the Corgi.
I think it's all of these reasons that we live our summers out in the front of our house.
And last night was no different.
